Celebrations Surround France After Bayrou Government’s Collapse
Public gatherings broke out in multiple cities, such as Paris, Nantes, Lyon, Rennes, Bordeaux, Nice, and Pau.
Demonstrators brandished placards reading “Bye bye Bayrou” while gearing up for a larger “Block Everything” protest scheduled for September 10.
In Nantes, nearly 300 participants showed up, according to the prefecture.
Meanwhile, in Paris’ 20th district, at least 200 assembled at Place Gambetta, a news agency reported.
“It’s a great victory tonight,” expressed Amina Elrhardour, 60, who took part in the Paris demonstration.
“The next government should think about the poor and retirees. Everything is expensive, everything is increasing.”
In Bordeaux, young activists cheered to the tunes of a brass band, while in Rennes, students gathered with music and confetti before heading into the city center.
