Ukraine says it had hit Russian Lukoil platforms in Caspian Sea

(MENAFN) Ukraine announced Sunday that its forces had attacked three offshore drilling sites operated by Russian energy giant Lukoil in the Caspian Sea.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the V. Filanovsky, Yuri Korchagin, and Valery Grayfer platforms were targeted because they allegedly provide support to Russia’s military operations.

The statement noted, “Direct hits have been recorded. The extent of the damage is being assessed.”

At present, neither Russian officials nor Lukoil have issued any response to the claims. Independent verification remains difficult given the ongoing conflict.
